In My Humble Opinion (IMHO)

In this area, users provide their opinion on devices, software, eBooks sites and anything else related to lesfic.

The aim of this area is to make deciding what eReader or PDA best suits you.

I wanted to point out that you do not need to spend a lot of money to enjoy eBooks on the run. I have recently purchased some earlier generation PDA's for less than AU$150 (about US$100-120). These work great. If you arent sure of what you need just email me and I will check out the device specifications and let you know.

The other great thing about PDA's is that business people always want the latest device, so what do they do with the old one? Probably give it to you, if you ask. wink

Note: I purchased the i-mate to prove that you can use older devices to read eBooks on. This one uses Windows mobile 2003.

Converting eReader files to MobiPocket and Sony Reader.

www.pdafiction.com has some titles that are not yet available in mobipocket format. Many of you will want to use mobi rather than have your eBook library spread over different eReaders, so I have done some research (with the help of some friends) and worked out a simple way to convert these .lit files to MobiPocket.

For a solution click here

For Kindle in the USA, email the file to Kindle and they will convert it for you and send it back, via their whispernet, to your kindle.

Converting Secure .pdf to mobi

Download the PDF file.

Go to MobiPocket Creator and download the free program. Open MobiPocket Creator and convert your .pdf to HTML.

Open MobiPocket and Import HTML to create a .mobi file.
